RE: {UAH} Mr. nekyon:KCC TRIBUNAL IMPLICATES LORD MAYOR LUKWAGO

Posted on 06:27 by Unknown

Ocen

Mr. Ekwelu also needs to learn, that lamenting and blemming wont deliver the presidency to them. It is not the first we have had of rigging. The opposition knows that. Every one knows that. The opposition should not waste our time telling us what we already know. If the regime is tying your hands, don't beg them to untie them because you know, and we know, that they wont. Just find a way of untying the ropes and deliver results.

The should Stop lamenting. Do Something. Act!!!

Mr Ekwelu;

If the opposition is just finding out after 3 election cycles about  how M7 has been winning elections , they will keep finding out in 2016 and beyond!

Ocen,
The opposition is now aware of how M7 steals the elections but their hands are tied with ropes. Like they say: "When the hunter learns to shoot without missing, the bird learns to fly without flapping"

Namakola;

Here are my reasons as to why the opposition has always failed to "win" presidential or the majority of Parliamentary elections in Uganda;

1) None of the political heads of parties is willing to sacrifice their ambition in the short term for the other to become president of Uganda. A good example is Kenya where Odinga, Ngilu, Wamalwa, and Kalonzo sacrificed their ambition to remove KANU in order to open up  the Democratic space;

2) NRM like KANU is not only a party but a system, which basically means it is entrenched right down to the lowest level of government i.e local councils.

This gives it a huge advantage during elections with mobilization and message disbursement;

3) Money, money and more money! The opposition is in all intent and purpose broke. While NRM is known to tap into the Exchequer; it has used it's incumbency to tap the local business community using all means necessary  which include but are not limited to coercive and sweet heart deals.

Their Kenyan counterparts have major local funders who underwrite many of the campaign costs and thus ensures that the sitting government will be given a run for their money.

For example Uhuru and Ruto were basically financed by Gikuyu and Kalenjin Billionaires who were going to definitely out spend their Luo and Kamba counterparts.

This could be as a result of many a business tycoon in Kenya does not need the government to function. I cannot say the same for their Ugandan counterparts

3) Whether you like M7 or not, you have to respect how much work he puts into winning and retaining his power. Winning power is easier than holding onto it and he has shown great skill in building a coalition that ensures he stays in power.

While many of us shout at the top of our lungs about "Banyarwanda, Tutsi and Hima,"  we lose sight of the fact that it makes up only about 10% of his (M7) support base . Rural voters in Central for example for whatever reason provides a huge block of votes for him.

Combine that with the West and all he has to do is be competitive in Eastern and parts of the the North to be able to retain power.

 4) Maybe one day my friends Mr Musoke and Frank Mujabi will explain to me what is going on  in Central?

5) Incumbency, Incumbency and Incumbency! Need I say more.

Mr. Ocen

The problem with our opposition is that they never optimally utilize opportunities. Remember the almost nationwide riots during the Kayunga saga???? How about the masiro fires, and the mabira saga. That was an opportune moment to squeeze the Government. If  you had Besigye in the west, Mafabi in the east, Kantuntu in Busoga, the Lukagos in the central, the Casiano Wadris and Betty Anywas  up north, all of them simultaneous drumming up noise for mass riots against the government at the same time with similar impact, I tell you things would have ended up differently. But disappointingly, all of them where jammed up in the 180 square meters of Kampala clamoring for media attention.

With the current fiasco in KCCA, Let Lukwago, and the opposition as a whole declare that Lukwago is there presidential candidate now and that the mayoral race is just a launching pad, I can almost guarantee that Kampala will be taken without a fight and the next elections will be a bloody run for the NRM. It does not matter whether Lukwago is FDC or DP or SUUBI or G4C or whatever ideological colour one believes in, the opposition should get principled and forget their individual personal egos and let one idiot get the much loathed M7 out of the way. The rest will follow. At this moment, the race is against M7 and NRM, not love for country. Hate it or love that is the only selling issue. Forget about good schools and bad hospital, Forget about the good roads and the bad corruption. That will never bring you vote. Politics is a game of love me and hate the other. Period.

But as long as the opposition still wants to play hide and seek, they have no chance against the M7's NRM mastery of the game

I beg…………………

President Museveni knows how to promote people.  He is a king maker. See how he createdd Charles Peter Mayega (Buganda katikkiro today), Betty Nambooze and Seggona.

By the way, why don't they arrange an election where Erias Lukwaga will contest with Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

Here the way I look at it; as long as Lukwago had presidential ambitions, he was going to have problems.

Study politics the world all over and you will notice a number of ex mayors sitting in State Houses. The Mayoral office is a perfect spring boards for one to launch oneself into national office.

The upside for Lukwago is that this tribunal has delivered an easy victory for him at the ballot box through "victim hood!"

the dictaor is too drank with power!! i wonder wht federation these two dictators are after. kenyan ,Nairobi governor and i think mayors are from ODM, if they can work with kenyatta, why is the ugandan dictator think, it must be someone from his party to run the city???

first the thieves said, he is ceremonila, why go all the far and spend millions of money fighting a ceremonial mayor?? stupid ugandans believed them but now they can see the truth. the mayor what they did not like is asking for accoutability of millions stolen under the guise of plating flowers in kampala.all the roads done so far are done on borrowed money from world bank and imf.so, where is the money??

they knew Lukwago had to go before the truth comes out
