Hope it's not true because this will be like a repeat of presidential elections. I have always argued that the mess at KCCA won't be solved by Museveni's kind of politics. As WBK would say, In Kenya, 'Mtukufu' Rais Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi kicked out politicians from management of Nairobi and other cities and brought in technocrats to do the job. Museveni is trying to do the same only that he is doing it for the wrong motives. I doubt if Musisi would have been appointed KCCA ED had it been Ssematimba who had won.

Erias Lukwago Seals Deal with Besigye, Relinquishes Mayoral slot for the Colonel who is now to Face off with an NRM Candidate in By-elections

Dr Warren Kiiza Besigye Kifeefe is back to do what he loves best: locking horns with President Museveni at elections.

The latest we have is that the literally fired Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has reached a deal with Besigye, leaving the mayoral slot for Kifeefe.

Knowing that Kaguta has a big interest in the capital city, Besigye’s entry into the race will give him sleepless nights. Besigye is a darling of Kampalans, where he has a big following; many have always endured Kayihura’s tear gas to the extent of putting their lives on the line.

 When he returned from South Africa in 2001 and from treatment in Nairobi, multitudes of Kampalans thronged Entebbe Road to receive Kifeefe like a hero. It goes to show his popularity in Kampala. Lukwago is a darling too, but his popularity fades in face of Besigye.

Besides, Besigye has more money and international funders.

Remembering that Lukwago beat Kaguta’s man Pastor Peter Ssematimba hands up, a man of Besigye’s stature will require a man of Kaguta’s importance to wrestle down not the Seyas of this world.

After sorting out Lukwago, Kaguta will have a big job on his hands sorting out Besigye, the man who has given Sevo a run for his seat thrice at the Presidential race.

Sources privy to the deal told us that Besigye wants to win the seat so that he can land his sweeter dream of being the Kampala President. We understand that the larger opposition has assented to the Besigye project.

The city demos captain Besigye feels that taking the mayoral seat will give him advantage to shake up the capital city in furtherance of his wish to oust Kaguta from State House.

Besigye’s game planners have advised him that it will be easy for him to oust Museveni by launching his war plan from the city center and near the First Residence.

Lukwago is expected to reveal the plan to Kampalans on Monday. Besigye’s deal is perhaps what Lukwago said would leave Kaguta quaking like a reed in the wind when he finally reveals his Plan B come Monday.

If Lukwago thought he can catch all people unaware, he forgot that he cannot take The Investigator by surprise.
