Systems Resident Engineer
Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Job Introduction
The System Resident Engineer will act as the interface between Magna and the OEM engineering team for all systems related activities. This position will be located in the GM Technical Center in Warren.
Major Responsibilities
- Serve as customer interface; maintain and manage Supplier program team meetings, action items, and minutes
- Execute product release, program management and product/system validation duties as directed by OEM customer and/or Magna program team
- Review, cascade and maintain product traceability for requirements cascaded from the OEM.
- Coordinate internal specification reviews within Magna functional teams
- Coordinate compliance reviews at every Magna and OEM milestone
- Gather technical interface information from the OEM customer, ensure sharing and documentation within Magna
- Access and act upon Customer-specific IT systems and process - EWOs, PRR's, warranty, AIMS/JIRA, drawing releases, Vehicle BOM's
- Support pre-production and engineering development vehicle installation and testing and failure analysis
- Manage document transfer (CAD, Schematics, Reports, etc.) between Magna and OEM customer
Knowledge and Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field
· preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
· 5+ years of demonstrated management and active development of complex electrical system requirements
· Manufacturing experience on high volume programs
· Fluent in PC applications for requirement management , change management, and product lifecycle traceability
· Excellent Oral/Written presentation skills; experience communicating to a broad range of personnel from working level engineers to top management
Work Experience
· Work history should demonstrate strong problem solving, decision making, interpersonal, and communicationskills (both verbal and written)
o past experience should also reflect project technical responsibilities
· Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
· Strong organizational, taskmanagement and leadership skills are required in order to prioritize, coordinate projects, manage conflicting needs, and deal with multiple issues simultaneously
- Experience with automotive electrical components required.
- Familiarity with automotive OE program timing processes, procedures, and reporting methods.
· Must have initiative and self-sufficiency with workload, to include program award deliverables management
· Knowledge of Hybrid/Electric vehicles & Fuel Cell technology
